About Us
We’re a Japanese family of three who left careers in television production in Tokyo to start a new chapter in Kuching — the capital of Sarawak, tucked away on the island of Borneo in East Malaysia.
Why Kuching? Honestly, that question still surprises us sometimes. But once you arrive, the city has a way of making perfect sense: the food, the rivers, the wildlife just outside the door, and a community where Iban, Malay, Chinese, and countless others have shaped something wonderfully their own — the kind of easy, unhurried life that’s hard to find anywhere else.
Through this blog, we share what we’ve discovered — from navigating visas and daily life to exploring the food, nature, and culture of this remarkable corner of Borneo. We hope it helps you find your own reason to head for Kuching.
